This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.
Several people on this board have asked me about the prospect of joining online gatherings or church meetings of my congregation in Toronto. We are launching the first of these tonight (May 11) at 8:00 PM Eastern. The medium is free Zoom teleconferencing software that you can download to your computer or smart phone. We are envisioning this initially as a monthly activity, so if the timing doesn't work for you, plan on joining us next month.
I'm sorry that we didn't give everyone a lot of notice. This was our "soft launch," so we only advertised it a few places the day of the service because we didn't want to attract so many people that we had a software malfunction, etc. Fortunately, the technical glitches were minor and we have a sense of how these are going to work going forward, so we'll be able to give more notice of the next one.

Regarding the timing, we're not exactly sure what to do for world-wide convenience. Currently I think we're might push it to 9 PM Eastern, which will be 7 PM Mountain and 6 PM Pacific ---- still a bit early for people in North America's west coast, but obviously that makes it 2 AM for Redjay, which is no help. Any later than 9 PM Eastern would be too late for our local seniors (9 PM may also be too late, we'll see).
I think it's unlikely to make a good audio podcast, because our normal services involve a lot of visual material --- charts and photos, etc. --- so it's probably best for watching on YouTube.
