Roadtrip on the Extraterrestial Highway

Post by SeeNoEvil »

A recent trip through Nevada took me down Area 51's Extraterrestrial Highway. Aside from driving through that area in the dark and all the jokes in the car that kept us going it was for the most part an uneventful trip. FYI: I don't recommend driving this road in the dark due to aliens and cows. We passed a giant silver alien that towered over a metal hanger type building and visited a restaurant in the middle of nowhere town called Rachel with a green alien out front holding a sign that said "Welcome Aliens". Inside there were "dead" aliens hanging on the walls which was pretty neat. Most of what we found interesting was in the middle of nowhere since that is pretty well where we were. Driving though that area in the dark felt like we were driving into a black hole never to be seen again. 13 hours behind the wheel and starting to see aliens I pulled off about midnight at a little motel again in the middle of nowhere. I couldn't go any further.

This stop proved to be the best of all. Turns out the guy running the hotel was one of the nicest guys I have come across in a long time. I'm sure we woke him up out of a dead sleep but he was as nice as could be, found a couple rooms which he discounted for us, told us we were not lost (GPS had stopped) and would help us in the morning. The next day he steered us back in the right direction and we were on our merry way. 2 weeks later we headed home back on the extraterrestrial highway and right pass the motel. An hour down the road we turned around because the snow got to bad and people were sliding off the roads. We ended up back at the little motel and while waiting out the storm all became good friends with the owner who braved the storm to get everyone at the motel dinner. Nice guy.

Best part of the trip: At the hotel there was a BOM in the nightstand. hmmm.... Here was my big chance. First time ever .... I did the deed..... I wrote: "The Book of Mormon is not true. For more information go to: CESletter.com. Here lies the real truth." Gosh that felt good to be a messenger of truth! lol! So if you are ever in Alamo, NV there is a BOM in the little motel run by a super nice guy with my scribble of truth just inside on the cover page.
Bucket list: Write testimony of the real truth in a hotel BOM. Check. ;)

You would have a hard time explaining that to out of town visitors from Kolob.
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.
