Emotional Times
I have now disclosed my faith transition with 3 of my 5 children. This has been a very emotional experience for DW and I. All in all the discussions have been great, amazing really. I wish this wasn't quite so hard on DW. I think there is some catharsis in it though, less secrets to keep, less pretending, less hiding. The remaining two may be more difficult... One is on a mission, and the other struggles with anxiety.

Re: Emotional Times
WOW. Big steps.
Congrats on moving forward. There comes a point that you just have no other choice but to live authentically or you will burst.
Good luck with the remaining 2. Now that the cat is out of the proverbial bag, you probably should share sooner rather than later.

Awesome. My kids were surprisingly understanding. Good job!

Shouldn't make kids keep secrets very long, especially from each other. Good luck!crossmyheart wrote: ↑Fri May 18, 2018 1:59 pm Good luck with the remaining 2. Now that the cat is out of the proverbial bag, you probably should share sooner rather than later.
Learn to doubt the stories you tell about yourselves and your adversaries.

What's the plan for the kid on a mission?
We had a guy on the old board who waited until his kid came home to tell him in person that the family had left the church.
Not sure what I would do in the situation.
I haven't told my kids but they have a pretty good clue since I don't pay tithes and wear G's.
The whole thing just sucks. Nobody wins unless everyone leaves together.

This is something I will have to think about...
Always been the good kid, but I wanted to know more, and to find and test truth.

Re: Emotional Times
Congratulations on taking this important step to living a more authentic life. It can be emotionally traumatic, but in the long run, it will free you of so much stress. Best wishes, from Wndr.

Congrats on taking the big step towards being able to be yourself without secrets.
I hope you have just as good of luck with the last two - I have no idea how to handle a child on a mission, but I also understand those who say that waiting until he's back could be a rough one too.
Good luck and if you need people to lean on, this is a great outlet for that.
