Spouseman and the Priesthood

Post by Thoughtful »

Spouseman visited a friend in the hospital when the EQP showed up. The EQP told the friend all the people who were worried about him. He had apparently invited the bishop, leadership from the other ward, stake leaders... they all sent their well wishes, but also their regrets they couldn't come give a blessing. In our town, everything is 4 min from the hospital... there's no excuse, IMO to decline seeing a man before life saving surgery.

EQP asked Spouseman to participate, "if you're able to do so." Spouseman says why wouldn't he be? Did the blessing. EQP was mouthpiece focusing on this man's need to increase his service. The man is in the hospital with major, major, stuff going on. But service!

Spouseman said it was no different than any other blessing. Felt the same, despite our debaucherous lifestyle of second Saturday and coffee.

I thought it was funny, that Spouseman trolled EQP. But I suspect now that his feelings were stung by the worthiness question. Stupid church.

Talk about not knowing your audience!

Hopefully your DH loaded the shelf a little for that EQP.

Spouseman is lucky the EQP didn't ask the friend if he had faith enough NOT to be healed....

Well, if it comes up... Tell him that any human with a pulse is worthy to exercise fake magical powers.

I wish Spouseman had given the blessing. Perhaps words of compassion and comfort would have been spoken.
There are 2 Gods. One who created us. The other you created. The God you made up is just like you-thrives on flattery-makes you live in fear.

Believe in the God who created us. And the God you created should be abolished.

He should have. Friend didn't make it. So that would have actually been more inspired than commanding him to serve.

 That's sad he didn't make it.
