- He has had many friends and family that have examined the church's claims and history from an analytical perspective and when they are finished they "are found wanting" (understood to mean that they have issues with the church's claims and history). The problem, according to the counselor, is that all of them failed to use the Spirit to examine the church's claims and history. If they had only used the Spirit then there would have been a different result. He didn't mention how it was he knew that all of them failed to use the Spirit.
- The gospel is perfect and beautiful. It is a challenge that we have to rely on ourselves to teach each other the gospel. You see, it's like the gospel in its perfect form is the Mona Lisa. And we are like a bunch of three year olds that only have three crayons, and we are trying to recreate the Mona Lisa. So that is the problem on why there are misunderstandings about the gospel. I leaned over to my TBM wife and told her we could stop watching General Conference since the church leaders are just a bunch of three year olds with three crayons.

I'm vaguely aware that there are several people in our ward that are experiencing/have experienced a "faith crisis". Sounds like the bishopric is well aware of it and trying to address it. Good luck!
I already didn't have a very high opinion of this guy, and his "testimony" just lowered my opinion even more. Sometimes I wonder how many people actually think about what they are saying when they share on open-mic Sunday.
