Watched the Winthrop vs Villanova game tonight. Tomorrow BYU vs UCLA (BYU might stand a chance since UCLA's top player was injured in the last minutes of their game against Michigan State).

Downton Abbey S1E1 came on afterward.

Played GeoGuesser on the Dumb Map: Game finished, well done! You got 24,983 points in total.

Being an engineer, I play this game to exactness. Some may say I cheat, but I still have fun. I open the game, and then another window with google. I then start googling signs, street names, anything I see on GeoGuesser. I then open Google maps, and try to zero into where I'm at. I'm getting each map within a few feet, and almost always get a perfect score.

It may not be for everybody, but I enjoy it.

Rumor has it that Stig may or may not have worn a McLaren hat to donut church last Sunday.

We’re thinking of trying to go to the race in Austin if we can get tickets.

Red Ryder and I along with several other apostates have been watching the the Phoenix Suns NBA series. The Suns have just qualified for the championship finals and we have been discussing which religious and secular entreaties to divine beings will influence the win.

I decided to give "Lovecraft Country" a chance despite hearing pretty mixed things about it. I couldn't resist it forever, being a big fan of H.P. Lovecraft. The show is all over the place, but it's entertaining if you're willing to go along with the pulp story elements.

Hey, I'm a huge Lovecraft freak too. I have watched a few episodes and intend to watch the rest when I have more time. All over the place is right. Lovecraft didn't write ghost stories, for one thing. And the shoggoths were all wrong.

The most fascinating thing about the series, of course, is that all of the protagonists are people of color, which would have Lovecraft turning in his grave. But what a brilliant thing to do, confront his racism not by simply calling him out with ad hominin criticism, but by invading his universe and populating it with black characters. Gotta love it. "Ah! You have looked over my kingdom and my greatness and glory. Now you want to take possession of the whole of it."

I've been slowly making my way through The Path.

There are lots of interesting things in this series, and they cover a lot of issues that Mormons can relate to (like the shock of discovering that your founding prophet was a sexual predator) but overall it's kind of slow and soap opera-ish. Some unexpected twists and turns keep it interesting.

I've also been watching Rick and Morty, thanks to Rubihighlander. :) :D

Shohei Ohtani in the MLB All star game. The guy looks like he is having so much fun playing baseball. How can he look so happy and not be Mormon?
God is Love. God is Truth. The greatest problem with organized religion is that the organization becomes god, rather than a means of serving God.
