Anyway, so much thanks to Red Ryder, Hagoth, Corsair; any and all that were part of this NOM resurrection. Like some/many of you, I went elsewhere, but frankly, even though I met great people and had a few really great conversations, there's just no place like NOM.

Also, thanks for the mixed faith relationships forum. I always thought that was needed, and being that DW is as TBM as ever, I'm sure I'll go there often to read up and learn from you fine folk.
Should probably still include a brief intro: I was raised Mormon due to my grandfather. He joined Mormonism before my time, and was as faithful as faithful can get. After my two older siblings had already been baptized, I was baptized the same day as were my parents, just before I turned ten years old. Parents didn't last long as they were inactive within a few years of baptism, but we kids were so involved in all the youth stuff (I actually liked the uniqueness of being Mormon in the Midwest), it just became a way of life and we were sucked in. (Now widowed ex-mo mother still apologizes for her part in our indoctrination.) Went on a mission in So Cal (was among the 18 month males in the '80's, thank the flying spaghetti monster!) and hated it, but was too brainwashed to listen to the "anti's" and later would waste an obscene amount of time and effort searching for the eternal companion that now keeps me glued to the corporation of the president.

About 10 years ago I heard of the DNA studies that "confirmed" that Amerindians descended from Asia. I said to myself, "no way, their origins are Jewish/Middle Eastern; I know because the "true church" told me so". That information led me to the internet to find the lord's side of the story, which led me to FAIRMORMON, which, with it's intelligence insulting excuses and rationalizations, led me, eventually, to a complete state of unbelief in the truth claims of the Mormon church. I now consider myself agnostic.
Anyway, thanks again. It's great to be back!
