You cant make this stuff up
I heard this on CBS Morning News this morning. They pointed out he was a "Mormon Elder" so I had to look it up when I got to work.

The fertility doctor? Gerald Mortimer- Philippines Temple President
New role for Ancestry DNA: finding out about your mom's perv OBGYN
I wonder if he will get reprimanded for using his little factory?

Yeah, heard about this yesterday. Evidently, masturbation is fine so long as you're using the result to inseminate unsuspecting women.

Re: You cant make this stuff up
I have been offline a couple of days- just checked Reddit-
a couple of posts referring to this guy as an example of "non consensual immorality"
He isn't the first fertility doctor to do this, but probably the first Temple/Mission/Stake President...

Yes, this is a better example of non-consensual immorality than rape is.
You know, I never wished the church would be embarrassed by this kind of stuff, until now. I thought the church was past the open victim blaming and was getting away from the chewed gun analogies. But "non-consensual immorality" just proves nothing has really changed in their thinking. So, now I am feeling like they deserve embarrassment after embarrassment.

The most well-known case of a fertility specialist using his own sperm was that of LDS Dr. Cecil Jacobsen. There were books and a movie that resulted from that case.
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

There is an easy solution that Dr. Mortimer can rely upon to avoid the sin of employing his little factory:crossmyheart wrote: ↑Thu Apr 05, 2018 7:46 am I wonder if he will get reprimanded for using his little factory?

I mentioned this to Sister R last night and her response sort of caught me off guard. She wondered out loud what him having been a mission president had anything to do with it?? She clearly thought it was bad business practices and wondered if he was just trying to save money by not buying donor sperm. Than she realized the dude is probably a sicko and wanted to spread his seed for his own nefarious purposes. Than she quickly came to the realization that it was a huge ethical violation and down right creepy. Watching her mind work through this was almost comical. Defend the church first than realize the perverted nature second. She still insisted that him being a mission president didn't matter to her testimony. God calls imperfect men.
Seriously what has to happen before TBM's will snap and realize the church is full of creepy men?
Founder "marries" 14 year olds? Nope.
MTC president rapes missionary? Nope.
Mormon OBGYN's multiplies and replenishes the earth with their own sperm? Nope?
Russell M Nelson commands Elder Bednar to give him a naked lap dance while sitting in his big red chair in the conference center? Bednar humbly asks, AGAIN?

There was something like that in Utah too. My son's best friend just found out that his biological father is really a technician in the sperm bank. Turns out he has about a thousand siblings. Their father died alone without a family. Zany. It turns out my son's friend is ok with it because his father that raised him wasn't such a great guy. He thinks he lucked out in the gene pool due to non-consensual insemination.MoPag wrote: ↑Thu Apr 05, 2018 11:46 amAnd an absolutely hilarious SNL skit:

I believe this was a Law & Order SVU episode also.
I am morbidly interested in how these men rationalize their behavior. I don't doubt that as LDS they somehow believe it's adding to their eternal progeny, with these babies BIC for themselves and their wife. Or that the women somehow are their spirtual wives. *vomit*

There's more than one way to skin a cat, er spank the monkey. I am sure he used some approved method like coitus interruptus with his DW.IT_Veteran wrote: ↑Thu Apr 05, 2018 8:17 am Yeah, heard about this yesterday.
