But why does God require feet kissing?
Gee Red!
You're a little angry or something. The pope was pushing for peace. Did you even read the article?
You see that? This is why I love the people on this forum!
You would never see an apologist like Dan Peterson turn around and say they got it wrong when they jumped over a fact to make an assumption (unless they leave the church or apologetics all together). You would also never see the COB admit they were wrong, their most recent example with the LGBT policy as evidence as well as the partial admission of Doctrine vs. Policy on the Blacks and Priesthood last year. Or, apologizing to the women for making them submit to the husbands and veil their faces all those years. Or scaring the crap out of the newly endowed all those years with the slitting of the throat and disembowelment.
“Sir,' I said to the universe, 'I exist.' 'That,' said the universe, 'creates no sense of obligation in me whatsoever.”

Foot washing and kissing can be thought of as being both an exercise in humility as it was practiced in the Bible, as well as an expression of foot fetishism.
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.
