This morning I heard an interview on the radio with a guy named Paul Selig who claims to channel spirits. He dictates exactly what they are saying to him and it is written down into books that are produced entirely by dictation and published without needing any editing.
This guy seems very reasonable and from listening to him I came away feeling like he really believed what he's saying.
Either this guy really is hearing supernatural beings or he isn't. If he is, then what the spirits say should be taken seriously; pretty much the same as scripture. Should a believer in Joseph Smith be able to just write Selig off as a crackpot or liar? How can you tell? He has dictated 8 books that required no editing. If Joseph was telling the truth then this guy should be taken seriously. If not it makes no difference whether he's lying or sincerelyaccessing abilities of his brain that he wasn't previously aware of, he still dictated 8 freakin' books with no editing.
Would praying about him resolve the question?
