Must have been a fluke. I just googled New Order Mormon and LDS Inc did not have any hits on the first or second page.
NOM was first, and then a bunch of posts about what a NOM is.

Ricky Gervis is LDS???
I just finished listening to RFM's podcast "Christians v. Pharisees" with Peter Bleakley. It was very good. But listening to Peter's English accent, all I could see in my mind was RFM interviewing Ricky Gervis. Pete has the same voice, cadence, and somewhat snarking attitude at Ricky. I loved it!

Re: Attending my Daughter's Temple Wedding?
You daughter could have a civil wedding if she wanted, with a sealing the next week. In choosing not to, she has already chosen to exclude some family and friends. It was her choice, not yours.

Great two years, and I'm glad I went. Concepcion Chile mid 70's. Learned Spanish, ate great food, had mostly good comps, met a lot a great people. Had a great MP. Did not have stupid rules like they do today, so I actually had fun. Saw a lot a great places in the southern Chile. I learned how to stu...

Re: Another blow to John Gee
It's hard to imagine how BYU could possibly bridge the chasm between this state of affairs and Holland's fantasy of the "Harvard of the West." Perhaps he should set his sights a little lower and try giving Ringling Bros. Clown College a run for its money. That was great!!! BYU is at best the "Liber...

The 5th season was the slowest. Season 6 ends with a bang, with Elizabeth killing more people in one season than Tony Soprano did in the entire show!

But the comment of the day, week, month, who knows, belongs to Dan's favorite contributor, Lou Midgely, who has these words of warning for Jana Riess and her ilk, who he blames indirectly for having the book banned, and some shadowy secular deep Mormon state, rather than Gee's own shoddy research: ...

How about a game of "Hide the Salami" in the scriptures? God sitting upon his throne ? boa-fac2-nophallus.png boa-fac2-phallus.png The original erect penis was removed in past editions of the Pearl of Great Price, and put back in the 1981 Triple Combo. That's pretty mythical. Nope, the penis was al...

The Americans
In this COVID-19 induced streaming marathon, My wife and I are 2/3rd the way through "The Americans" on Amazon Prime. For those not familiar with it, it is a cold war spy drama set in 1980's Washing DC, with a pair of KGB spies living as "Americans" in suburban Virginia, being parents during the day...

Re: What will church look like...after Covid-19
So I bet whether someone is itching to go return or whether someone would be fine never going back comes down to whether they're an introvert or an extrovert. For the believing introvert, church occupies the role of uncomfortable duty, "you gotta do what you gotta do," than something that was actua...

Re: What will church look like...after Covid-19
Check out This Reddit post over at the very TBM sub called r/latterdaysaints. He said while home church is hard, it is so much better that going to church, and he is not looking forward to returning. I was wondering how this didn't get removed, as they normally remove anything even slightly against ...

Re: Any church-at-home experience to report?
I saw on another board (maybe reddit/latterdaysaints) that the area president someplace in the US issued a firm order that the members are NOT to conduct a sacrament meeting. He said only the prophet can authorized a sacrament meeting, and he has not done so. He said members can sing and have an ope...

Re: Any other retirees watching their future go down the drain?
Not to brag, but three years ago when trump was elected, I took all my retirement money out of the S&P 500 (where it had been for 30 years) and moved it to gov securities that earn 2-3% a year, but can never go negative. I've been second guessing my move over this past three years as the market was ...

Re: The challenges of attending church
I have just the opposite problem. I have lots of friends at church, and enjoy the association with them, but not church! We even have a standing invite from one family for Sunday dinner every week. So I go to talk with my friends.
