Re: What are you doing to protect your family against the virus?

Noticed in the Tribune today that 70,000 Utahs have missed their second vaccine dose due to it being against the Word of Trumpism. Perhaps they got a Morse code message from Q.

Re: I have a question.

If you were the artist creating a serious painting of that scene, would you depict the Savior as described in the scriptures or would you have him more dressed out of concern for what some might consider appropriateness or sensitivity? Hard to say since Utah has shown signs of leaving the Dark Ages...

Re: Moving out of Utah

I had a theory once that life grew progressively less judgmental the further you moved from Provo, Utah. It seemed that once we arrived in Ulaanbaatar, what we were being judged for would be turned around. People would offer us a cup of coffee without fear of eternal damnation. The theory was fancif...

The burger challenge at Lucky 13's in Salt Lake City, Utah by Raina Huang:

It takes a lot to make Raina flinch. I know that I could not handle all those roasted habaneros and habanero puree. Mexico could potentially use habaneros as grenades in warfare.

Joseph Smith never dated the first vision. He skipped straight to the marriage proposal.
Proposals, since he had multiple first visions.

Church prophets have a tradition of memorializing themselves.
Wonder if they could set aside a portion of Central Utah that could be known as The Valley of the Prophets, which could have some 40' by 40' pyramids.

Reverend Goldsmith Retires

For 34 years, the Rev. Tom Goldsmith of Salt Lake City’s First Unitarian Church has been a prominent presence on Utah’s religious landscape. He has shaped his congregation into a refuge for believers who do not feel at home in more conservative faiths, including the LDS Church. Now he is retiring an...

(How many of you have the Rainier jingle from the O-L-D commercial running through your brains now? )
This could have been made into a pro-Mormon commercial, substituting an LDS family crossing the road.

A good example of this is how the church failed to quickly recognize the evil in the Nazi party in Germany...Helmuth Hubner. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helmuth_Hübener There was a successful play about Helmuth Hübener at BYU a number of years ago. It angered Elder Thomas Monson and was ordered...

Re: Moving out of Utah

Sounds exciting. Wish I could be in my early twenties with a teaching certificate in English. I would move to Taiwan, South Korea, or China and be an English teacher for a couple of years. Talk about a change from Utah.

Best wishes for your adventure.

Re: New Apologetic Movie: Witnesses

It would be interesting if the experimental psychologists at BYU could take some of those penile meters from the Wilkenson/Oaks era of gay therapy, apply them to some RM-Elders and have them watch Witnesses. That could help identify where the next generation of apologists will come from.

LDS underGarments would have been a big relief to those forced to wear hair shirts during the Inquisition (the Spanish one, not the Utah one under the reign of President Bednar).

Re: 'Do you think I could ever be happy outside of the church?'

And that's a big reason I am so terrified of my kid getting active and involved- he is a very anxious kid who is always needing validation that he is a good kid who is doing enough, and this is a church that constantly is telling you that you're never doing enough for it... it can lead to a lot of ...

The Church also has the potential to pry its members away from the fascist pathway that leads them to boo Mitt Romney and join in insurrections.
